Objective: This aim of this class is to improve your English pronunciation. This will be achieved through several activities each week which require high levels of concentration and participation. Specifically, you will
- eliminate all consonant pronunciation errors
- eliminate the most common errors in syllable stress placement and pronunciation
- eliminate the most common errors in vowel production
- improve the fluency and authenticity of your English by learning to correctly pronounce natural English rhythms
- learn the International Phonetic Alphabet

For your speaking evaluation grade, I will be supervising your work on the lab equipment and taking the following into account:

Required Materials:
A folder and/or a journal. We will be taking some form of notes every day. You will also receive several handouts. Some documents may only be available on this site.
You are expected to attend class every day. You are also expected to email the lectrice if you have questions or issues of any kind.
Final Exam:
We will begin learning the IPA the first week of class, and do further in-depth exercises to perfect the usage of each sound. You must have memorized the IPA before the beginning of week 2.
Late work:
No late work will be accepted. No "make-up" exams will be given. On an urgent basis, you may consult the English department regarding "rattrapage."

I will post updates from our sessions every day. I may ask you to bring certain documents from the site to class. The secret word for your first assignment is bragging. You may check your grades online by entering your ID number in the section titled "What's my grade?"
